SURVEYS/ AUDITS/ INSPECTIONS

Stautory Surveys approved to Recognised organisation (DGS order No.6 0f 2013)

1. SAFCON, SEQ, SRT, IOPP, IAPP, ISPP, LL, AFS surveys of any cargo ship

2. SMC, ISP, MLC audits

Exceptions

1. SEQ intermediate surveys shall be carried out by MMD surveyors, if the vessel is in Indian waters.

2. SAFCON/SRT/IOPP renewal surveys - compulsory participation of mmd surveyors along with RO, if the vessel is in Indian waters.

3. All passenger ship surveys/audits shall be carried out by mmd surveyors

4. Initial Load line assignment of new built ship shall exclusively be undertaken by IRS

5. All DOC/DDOC audits of shipping companies and SMC intermediate audits of all types of vessels shall be undertaken by MMD surveyors

6. SMC, MLC intermediate audits of vessels of all type shall be undertaken by MMD surveyors

Type approval of product:

1 The product is accepted if it is approved by the maritime administration of country of manufacture.

2 If the product is approved by any Recognised organisation on behalf of any maritime administration.

3 If the product is manufactured in India it shall be approved by Indian Register of India on behalf of GOI

Servicing of Equipment

1. Service station shall be approved by the administration.

2. The servicing of equipment’s can be certified by any Recognised organisation, except for Passenger VesselsIndian Register of Shipping Lloyds Register of Shipping,

American Bureau of Shipping

Germanischer Lloyd and

Nippon Kaiki Kyokai, 3. The servicing of equipment’s of Passenger Vessels are undertaken by MMD surveyors

Approval of Plans

1. All plans may be authorised by any recognised organisation

Grant of Exemptions

Any type of exemtions are granted only by DG Shipping and not by MMD

If there a non comliance of MS Rules or convetions, matter to be informed to the DG shipping.

If any exemptions are required in this regard, Owner has to approch RO and RO has to forward the request with clear recommendion to DG Shipping
